Just one more thing: Teaching children money management
"Son, could you lend me 50 bucks?" This may not be an unusual request in these days of high inflation. After all, many teenagers are "in the money." It's comparatively new, this teenage affluence. My wife and I can remember the day when most young people had little money of their own. But today it is not unusual for the high school or secondary school contingent to have cars, buy their own clothes and even travel to Europe with teenage groups. As to the effect of this comparative wealth on our young people, there seems to be mixed emotions. Some people feel teenagers have too much money today, that they don't know how to handle it and are often wasteful.
