For years, I have heard the arguments of hippies, demonstrators, draft-card burners and dropouts, that they are mimicking such famous world personages as Mahatma Gandhi, Buddha, George Washington, or Jesus Christ. Most adults in the "establishment" hear these arguments with pained amusement - and dismiss the antics of the youthful generation as something that will "go away" in time. But today fully forty percent of the population of the United States is under 21 years of age.
